Archlord 2 is a 3D medieval fantasy MMORPG developed and published by WEBZEN. It is the spiritual successor to Archlord though developed by a different studio and set in a different “parallel” world that is based on the world of the original Archlord.

The game went through 2 CBTs in Korea in October 2012 and February 2013 respectively. The OBT was launched in the third quarter of 2013, and the European OBT was released in July 2014.

Archlord 2 is set on the continent of Chantra and features four playable races (though only 2 of them were available from the start), the Humans, Orcs, Dragonscion and the Moonelves.

The races are split into two factions that are constantly warring with each other:

  • The Azuni, the coalition of Humans and Dragonscion
  • The Crunn, the union of the Orcs and the Moonelves

The players are thrown into the middle of this raging conflict and will have to choose a side to fight and die for.

The game features a multitude of PvE and PvP elements, ranging from single player quests content over party and raid instances to large-scale battlegrounds for up to 400 players.

One of the game’s unique mechanics is the ability for players to become the Archlord, the supreme ruler of the game world. Only one Archlord can exist on each server, until dethroned by other players seeking to compete for the position. The Archlord has access to exclusive contents, such as costumes, mounts and skills.
